In 2020, we turned our front lawn into a garden. It was a project that involved the whole family from planning to installation. While we realized its value for our household, and its role as a living laboratory, source of food and medicine, and generator of wonder, we didn’t anticipate its effect in bringing our neighborhood to life—from the microbes, insects, plants, and animals, to big and little human neighbors alike.
In that soil were sown the seeds that have grown into Living Place. Through processes of storying, storytelling, art, and design-build services, we hope to develop the capacity for enlivening neighborhoods and communities that share and contribute to the field of intelligent caring and curiosity for the Place that called us here.

Phase 1
Plan
In the Planning phase, we embark on a journey fueled by potential. It begins with an idea, a spark that ignites the imagination. We delve deep into the essence of your space, envisioning its role within a larger system. Phase 2
Design
As we transition to the Design phase, we expand upon the initial concept, exploring new horizons and possibilities. Yet, we also recognize the role of limits and boundaries—physical, financial, and operational. Attuning our attention to evolving structural dynamics, we achieve a newfound harmony, charting a clear path toward our envisioned end state while respecting the inherent limits of the journey.
In the Building phase, we focus on translating vision into reality, navigating the complexities of the construction process with precision and finesse. From managing workflows to overcoming obstacles, we embrace the surrender to the journey while steadfastly holding onto the overarching vision. With every plant planted and every stone set, your living space transforms into a tangible manifestation of your dreams, embodying a new state of harmony and vitality.
