The Planning Phase starts with potential. Activated by an idea, an image in the mind.
Potential comes from evolving the capacity of a system to contribute to a larger system. So we move to imaging. Seeing the system alive and at work, understanding how it flows into one, coming to a design concept, a role for the project in the larger system.

The Design Phase begins as we expand on the design concept. Realizing new end states to pursue.
Then we come back and recognize the limits: physical, financial, operational. And finally, we find a new level of harmony, bringing into focus the phases of work towards that end state.

Building focuses on managing the phases of work and the systems and processes that reconcile the obstacles and limits in existence:
thinking, financing, and materials. There is a surrender to the process, but also a holding to the vision, actualizing a new state for your living space as it manifests and is lived in.
