Living Place

Living Place is a vehicle for partnering with Place to plan, design, and build projects that enable humans and natural systems to express more of their potential.

Through processes of storying, storytelling, art, regenerative design-build services, and education, we seek to identify and reconnect you to Denver’s socio-ecological patterns of place, and from this basis develop a shared vision for the future that lifts your spirits and offers renewed hope for developing a better, healthier life for your community and generations to come.

→ Positive perception and identity through a felt understanding of the Place that called us here.
→ Creative placemaking projects that enable enlivening living spaces and essence expression.
→ Cross-sector community relationships and development efforts.
→ Deepening understanding and relationship with Water in the Design-Build industry of the West.
→ Growing the Field for Intelligent Caring and Curiosity for Denver and the Front Range.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Questions Answered

Q. What kind of projects do you work on?

We specialize in planning, designing, and building outdoor transformation projects, including residential gardens, commercial landscapes, public parks, urban green spaces, and more.

Q. What is Regenerative Development?

Regenerative Development is a philosophy of design that seeks to develop the capacity of human and natural systems to evolve in the places they co-inhabit.

It provides a conceptual framework through which a community can deepen understanding of the working of place, and activate the healing potential within every project while developing our role as co-evolutionary participants in living systems.

Q. Why are native plants important?

Native plants provide a lifeline to our natural and human residents alike. They bind the energy of the Sun to support processes of habitating, fooding, and transacting among wildlife, migratory and native pollinators, and birds. Additionally, they enable biodiversity and contribute a sense of awe and beauty to the Colorado landscape.

Q. What is Place-sourced Design?

Place is a way to conceptualize the complex interactions and relationships of nested systems: Earth, Natural, and Human. Place-sourced design is a process that develops the capacity for you to play a co-evolutionary role with natural systems in specific locations. We will explore this idea in our writing and as we discover the Story of Denver through our podcast called “Storying Denver.”

Q. Why focus on water-wise designs?

We believe that you seek to love where you live, work, and contribute.

Increasing focus on responsible water use and other resources in the outdoor and built environment is revealing gaps as well as opportunities. We hope to explore technologies and design pathways that bring new life and creativity to our residential and commercial landscapes.
